“Had the most incredible time at Foxfire Farm!

The horses at Foxfire Farm are simply majestic! The trail ride was an absolute dream - the scenery, the tranquility, and the expert guidance from the staff made it an unforgettable experience.

The farm-fresh eggs and the option to purchase chicken straight from the source is a game-changer! The quality is unmatched, and knowing exactly where my food comes from is such a great feeling.

To cap off the day, we enjoyed a mesmerizing bonfire under the stars. The charcuterie board was a work of art, with a delightful array of cheeses, meats, and accoutrements. And what's a celebration without champagne? Foxfire Farm knows how to elevate the experience!

If you're looking for a perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and delicious treats, Foxfire Farm is the place to be!”

Come experience our beautiful trails from the saddle. Our well-trained, well-cared for, happy horses would love to show you around - whether a romantic ride with that special someone, a horsey adventure followed by a sampling of some fantastic local wines at Janemark Winery, or simply some self-care time outdoors - we have the experience you are looking for and the appreciation and ethical treatment towards these incredible animals that you can feel good about.

We offer two types of ride:

  1. Mixed group rides (your group + other groups)

  2. Private group rides (just your group)

Our mixed group rides are offered on-farm at set times Friday - Sunday, last for 1 hour, and include our Horseback Trail Ride and Wine Tasting Experience. To turn a mixed group ride into a private ride, you may purchase the entire time slot for just your group.

Our private group rides take place either on-farm (1-hour) or off-farm (2-3 hours) and offer the some flexibility to go at faster paces for experienced riders, if so desired.

Indulge Two Passions…

Join us for a very unique experience. We begin with a guided horseback ride at Janemark Winery & Vineyards and through our regenerative ranch at Foxfire Farm. Learn how we keep horses sustainably through rotational mob grazing and multi-species stacking, using other animals in symbiosis with the horses to massage the land, sequester carbon, build the soil, and produce clean food.

Come enjoy nature and the company of our wonderful horses. Upon finishing our ride, we head inside at Janemark Winery for a tasting of some phenomenal local wines.

Price listed is per person and includes ticket for wine tasting at Janemark Winery. All participants in the wine tasting must be 21+ years old.

Purchase a gift certificate for this experience.

To purchase this ride without the wine tasting, please click HERE. All riders must be 15+ years old.

Private Group Ride

Would you like to customize a trail ride for your own private group?

Do you have a little more experience and prefer to set your own pace? We have you covered! Come enjoy nature and the company of our wonderful horses.

This ride lasts for 2-3 hours and takes place in the scenic woodlands of southern Maryland. Each of our rides is led by one of our knowledgeable guides who will ensure your safety as well as your enjoyment. This ride is a great option for a small group to explore Maryland's forests and tidal wetlands. There are some steep inclines and declines, creek and bridge crossings, and gorgeous scenery. This ride can accommodate groups with up to 3 people.

Add an unforgettable finish onto any ride with a charcuterie picnic beside our bonfire (includes complimentary champagne).

PLEASE NOTE: while we can take individual riders out, we have a minimum cost involved in bringing in a guide, preparing horses, loading and hauling, etc. Thus, we charge a “single rider surcharge” for a solo rider. It is more cost efficient per person to gather a group of friends!

“Absolutely wonderful experience!

For many years, on her birthday, I have taken my wife, Megan, horseback riding. We always do private rides and have done so in many different States now. The ride with Foxfire Farm was the best riding experience we have had yet.

Shari was fantastic in every way. She was early and prepping the horses when we arrived even though we were early. Shari asked about our experience and level of comfort with horses and tailored the ride to us (no other farms we have been to have done this). It made for a much more enjoyable day.

Adding to the much better ride experience was the conversation with Shari. She told us about the area, Foxfire Farm, her family, shared her passion for farming and really made us understand her why. Her passion and level of compassion for the wellbeing of the horses (and other animals) really shows in many ways.

We will certainly be going back much more than just for birthday rides with Shari. We are excited to check out their wine tasting and Christmas lights rides!"
